ptiJean a écrit:Pourtant au niveau de la qualité de l'optique, Benq n'est en général pas dans les premiers.

Moi je dirais rien mais bon ....
...as I already said, we had the change to see 8720 a couple of weeks ago and I was impressed with the performance but since then I was wondering how it stand up against other DC3… ( I assume this what it counts in the end in our hobby…). Over the weekend and as Takisot point out, we had the change to organize a review test in our local Greek avforum.gr between Marantz 12S4, Optoma 79, BenQ 8720 and one DC2 (last but not least) Sharp 12000…
Findings… The good old 12000 hold on very well against the new generation and proves that a well build balance machine can get you to the next level (or at least keep up nicely) while you wait for more changes to occur in the next 6-12 months…
Marantz is Good… if not excellent but needs a lot of pampering in order to show up his beauty and cinema feel like images… if you are the owner of dark room, totally controlled environment and have the money to spend this is the way… anything less it will be a disappointment as it is to deem compare to the others…
Optoma, nice priced, entry level in DC3, need professional calibration (specially if you try to work via DVI…) in order to get a good image projection, for my eyes to much artificial color representation (it tends to push red…), bright enough to watch sports or have some lighting on while you’re a viewing, but need more in order to compete with 8720… additional the piece we had for review seems to had some issue with the lens and this is the only way that I can justify focus issue we saw on certain parts of the screen… if this is not the issue then… Huston we have problem…
BenQ 8720, whoaoo… OK it’s more expensive than 79 but 50% less than Marantz and what to you get… nice set up out of the box, a fantastic menu that help set up the pj in every room, balance color palette, and a lens close to Marantz quality… high contrast and very sharp images projected (maybe some people would not like this… but then again menu controls are there to fix it…) overall the best projector out of the ones we had the change to review and probably on of the best implementation of BenQ (if not the best…) until now… if short throw is not an issue, it can easily take the place in a large theater for clear, crispy image reproduction… and cinema feel image that was missing form this price range in the past…
…then again this is my opinion so till you see it yourself this food for thought …
