DescriptionWhile there are fantastic and deep space sims out there featuring super realistic space physics and billions of stars to travel to, we believe that combining an easy-to-pick-up and play rogue-like gameplay with AAA-quality graphics and sound with a captivating, non-linear story is something that we and many of you have been waiting for.
In EVERSPACE™ we take a more action-focused approach to the core gameplay of a space shooter and we want to combine it with a modern, rogue-like game loop taking you on a challenging journey through an ever-changing, yet beautifully crafted universe full of surprises.
Each run will be exciting to play as you will have to face completely new situatoins every time where your skills, experience and gift for improvisation will be tested. Through this we keep each part of the game long-lasting and interesting and generate lots of individual, meaningful moments for you and worth sharing with your friends.
What's Special?We won't make EVERSPACE™ ultra hardcore and unforgiving. Rather, every time you die you are going to be rewarded to pick better gear for your next run. The better you did in the previous run the better the gear will be for your next. This is why we put great emphasis on the upgrades of your ship and your gear.
You will be able to to dig deep into the depths of the upgrade tree with plenty of nodes to be upgraded depending on your play style preferences and the variety of enemies to fight-off in EVERSPACE™. And, yes, you will see most upgrades on your shiny ship in full detail.
Furthermore, everytime you die or you kill a boss a fragment of the story will be told. So dying is part of the progression, consequently.
How does a deep story fit into a rogue-like?Typically, due to the nature of the genre, rogue-likes don't have a deep story but we want to change that. We came up with a plot that makes perfectly sense for you to be re-born after every death and come back with a deeper knowledge of what is acutally going on and, ultimately, solving the great puzzle. On this we have been working together with Falko Löffler[www.mobygames.com] who has been a successful story and game writer for adventure games for many years.
As much to our knowledge, this will be the first rogue-like (space) game that brings such high production values and a deep and captivating story to your PC.
