C'est quasiment sûre que je vais prendre un LX55 mais j'attends les premiers CR quand même.
Et en ampli, j'hésite maintenant à prendre un LX75 pour aller avec...dommage qu'il soit un peu hors budget...

faut attendre que le LX75 soit en street price dans ton budget parcequ'il a l'air ... en plus avec un LX55 avec QDEO + PQLS ça va être

MT8555 in all three players

I have the BDP-140 and the BDP-440 (52FD), they both use the MT8555 chip, revision A, same amount of RAM, same clock speed.

Both (all three) are very fast in bootup, menues, and playback startup. A few updates to the firmware, and we have a pefect lineup of players from Pioneer. From the tests I have done so far with the BDP-440, it looks promising I have the Oppo 93 and 95 for comparison.

Par contre ici, compte tenu du prix demandé de 650€ pour l'OPPO93 (quasiment jamais négociable), si les fonctionnalités sont identiques ou comparables (j'en doute pour les ISO par ex.), les 93 ne se vendront plus face à une LX-55 que l'on pourra certainement avoir, après négociations, vers les 360-370€ livrée!

J'ai cette fonction également sur mon ampli mais ne l'ai jamais activé.

ah bon. parceque sur mon ampli c'est on ou off selon le choix de l'utilisateur
mais je me pose la question en cas de doublage VF, ça ne peut pas marcher ?...

Avec mon sc-lx 82 ça devrait le faire cette bdp lx 55. Une hdmi sur l'ampli pour le son et une directe sur le TV.

conclusion :

I will say without a doubt, this player is definitely a step in the right direction for Pioneer, whose BDPs I had all but abandoned. My initial feeling is this player is very capable and an excellent performer, but not the best value at $400. Spending a hundred more for an Oppo BDP-93 gets you a fair bit more. Now if Pioneer lowered the MSRP (or effective street price) to a cool $300, you have a real winner.

Have not tested that much yet:
FAT32 partition:
All DVD /blu-ray iso works fine.
SACD iso, fine.
AVCHD 24 worked, but for some unknown reason 60p did not work, have not tested why. (audio worked for the 60p file.
FLAC, not sure what is wrong, but it does not list .flac files. I can see from some debug information, that it looks like the .flacs should be listed, but it does not. Using another extension, and it plays FLAC (have tested 192kHz).
All mkv files have worked so far.
In general, I can see from the code, that some file search / indexing features are not fully done. There are actually some debug code line comments with text like "needs to be added" and "must have" and so on

Did everything you test apply to both the 140 and 440? That would make the 140 a pretty impressive player for its price

maybe I am a little confused but isn't an blu-ray ISO one very large 50 gig or so file and thus won't play under FAT32?

what extension did you give to the FLAC files so you could play them? Something like MP3?

i'm wondering to myself if that trick will work with the SC-55

if you are seeing the code and debugging information that is a lot more than most of us will ever see

and with comments like those in the code, I can see why you say after a couple of firmware upgrades, this could give the opp 93 a run for its money

The bluray ISO I tested with was with a modified (shortened) chapter, but same identical structure as the full ISO.

And yes, renaming .flac to .mp3 does the trick. I belive this minor issue is related to FAT32 file listing.

The above tests was done with both the 140 and 440.
BDP-140 and 440 are almost identical, and it also opens up for mods adding the PQLS and IP control to the BDP-140. I have done that already, so it is possible.
