matching jfets for Zenquito

Message » 23 Avr 2004 17:16

Dear Forum,

Unfortunately I don't speak French, so I'll try English instead...

I am building a Zenquito Evolution and have a question about the input jfets 2sk246 and sj103. There seem to be three version of these fets (Y, GR and BL). Each version has different Idss.
Does anyone know which version is most suited?

I think it all depends on the bias current in the input stage. If, for instance, the current through the jfets is about 1 mA, then only the Y-version can be used.
Does anyone know how much bias current will run through the jfets?

I hope you can help,

Lex

hi LexB,
Welcome in this forum.

Few months ago I builded a Zenquito.
You can find some informations about my story on my web site :
http://pviolero.free.fr/hifi/mon_zenquito_evolution.htm

Unfortunately this page is in french, but perhaps you
can use a web page translator.

I confirm that 3 series exist for these JFET (2sk246 and sj103). You can use any serie, but the most important is that all JFET has to be into the same serie. Personnaly I have used the Y serie.

See you soon

Pascal.

According with pviolero the Y series are the most suited. Used 1k timmer to after the jfet.
