J'en profite pour lancer un appel ! !

Si qqun arrive à obtenir d'autres infos ! !

Eh, les gars, y que moi qui cause, ici ! !
Bon, pour ceux qui veulent lire un CR en GB :
The simplest way of understanding what sets the Marantz apart is the dedication to audio quality which Marantz has always adhered to...athough, ironically, this is one of the spots that was surpsringly skimped on, and now corrected by the new-coming 8400 player which Maarantz has just begun to ship! This means 8300's will be on bargain closeouts soon, because the 8400 is a significant improvement, for the following reasons:
1) The 8400 has been revamped for absolutely BETTER audio internals and pripherals all around- the most noteable of which is the all-around apgrade to DAC technolgoy AND circuitry in the multi-channle and 2 channel departments. In the 8300, Marantz used their cream-of-the-crop DAC technology for the front Left and Right channels, used the almost-top DAC for the front center channel and then used lower grade DACs for the remainder of the channels- obviously being Marantz, the DACs were excellent quality, but not quite as great as the front left and right. NOW with the 8400, DACs are top-notch ALL AROUND- a very big difference indeed, evident on both movie soundtracks AND especially and multi-channel music. The 8300 was already the best sounding player under 2000 bucks - in fact it rivaled a few players in the 3000 dollar range for audio quality! However the 8400 improves on an already excellent platform- it is available this week in fact!
The 8300 initially succumbed toa few circuitry bugs, but Marantz offered to rectify this for free, by calling in and scheduling to send in your player for a software upgrade. Initially, the first units offered, (almost a year ago) DID exhibit some signs of the chroma-upsampling bug- you can read quite a bit on that here:
http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_8 ... -2001.html
However Marantz realized the issue shortly after release and newer units were absolved of this problem. The same goes for compatibility issues- initially, certain units seemed to have issues playing back certain single-layer SACDs (SACDs are available in dual layer and single layer- dual layer, also known as "hybrid" discs, can play in an ordinary CD palyer, though at the expense of lower resolution audio quality - you do not benefir from the extended bandwidth of SACD- it sounds like regular CD quality, but can be down-mixed to multi-channel in certain players with a surround receiver). Once again, Marantz responded with a quick software and intenal change and future units seemed freed from this problem- but you can call Marantz and have the issue fixed.
Video quality wise, the 8300 is better than the Pioneer and Sony units (45 and 47Ai and Sony 999es) and slightly better than Yamaha's 2300 - Yamaha used Faroudja processing technolgoy as opposed to a mix of Marantz componentry and other sub-contracted parts. Both the Marantz and Yamaha are comparable- but the Yamaha is very very close, in fact, in some ways slightly better- such as clarity. However the Marantz illustrates pluge and deep blacks and reds better- especially on rear-projection TV's, or so my eyes told me. 5th Element superbit DVD told the story best- the Marantz bested all other aforementioned players videowise (although only slightly over the Yammie) but in the audio department, it blew away everything else - the Diva opera scene is the most telling- give the Marantz a worth speaker system like the Rogue/Alon setup I used and the Marantz literally blew everything else clear out of the water. The only 2 players I can name which out perform the Marantz 8300 and the Denon 9000 and the LExicon Rt-10, both of which cost 3500 dollars! In this price range, the Marantz is superb- and now with the revamping of the unit (now calledan 8400) Marantz charges only a few bucks more, with a 1599.99 MSRP, this is clearly the unit to have.
Highs seems higher, overall the units whopping 118 dB signal-to-noise ratio is compelling, but the numbers don't tell anything, you need to sit down, audition and compare all releveant units and let your ears tell you the story. You're paying well over a grand for a DVD and CD player! The trick is to shop as long as you want, until your ears are satisfied and ready to let go of the cash. I believe the Marantz is clearly the best of what I've heard so far- however for the record, I opted a different route- I bought the Yamaha because of the video quality, and I'm planning on selling the Yamaha once Denon's 2900 comes out- I will either upgrade to the Denon 2900 OR the Marantz 8400, whichever one my ears like better. The Yamaha has done extremely well so for though, and costs significantly less than the Marantz - under 1000 in fact.
The hybrid arena is a very hot area to be right now- however popularity is growing every day, and therefore not all manufacturers have even gotten a chance to put their best offerings on the market yet! Clearly, the 8400 is the best way to go for under 2000, but unless you're ready to spend right now, my advice is to wait a bit for all the other competition to get out to the street- THAT is when the real test will happen! I highly recomend the Marantz 8300, ESPECIALLY now that the 8400's introduction will drive prices down. I recomend the 8400 even MORE highly, because audio-wise is is absolutely superb...Both the 8300 and 8400 are the best of what's around, so check out both and let your ears and eyes tell you if it it's better to save a few and spend a few more. Finally, I recomend you continue to shop, whether you buy or not, to look at the new-coming Denon's (out in June) and Some of the other newcoming units that will hit the street shortly...the Hybrid market is VERY VERY new, so unless you're in a right-now rush, patience may prove to be the best tool to help you choose.
GOod luck and happy shopping - I highly recomend giving the Marantz 8300 AND 8400 it's well- deserved shot at an audition, they are ultra impressive, easy to use and play just about anything in a better sounding fashion than just about everything else available... *THUS FAR.

The video quality is very good. The chroma bug IS there. I know, I know, how on earth can I call the video quality very good if the Chroma Bug is there. The picture quality and color saturation are outstanding. The Black Level is incredible, and there's literally no excess jitter to be found. If it weren't for the Chroma Bug
